Over 300 villagers in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, yet even with semi-random generated dialogue, some manage to be noticeably and consistently cooler than others.
Happy birthday to one of my favorite game series ever, Animal Crossing! This delightful little life-sim series hasn’t failed to capture my heart since it made its way west on the GameCube–though this is the fifteenth birthday of the N64 title in Japan. Fifteen years is a long time, and we’ve spent the last four of it without a real entry in the series. Where’s my Animal Crossing Wii U, Nintendo?
Ahem. Anyway. While some spend their time in their animal towns fishing, digging for fossils, planting flowers, or being fashionable, the highlight of Animal Crossing for me is the ridiculous cast of animals living in a town with you, an ordinary human. There are 333 total villagers in Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and while it’s insanely difficult to meet them all, some of these villagers move in and leave an immediate, lasting impression. After meeting various villagers (either through move-ins, the campsite, or friends’ towns) over three years, I’ve ranked the top ten best villagers in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
