Run! Punch things! Run and punch things at the same time! What could be simpler than that?
There are, of course, plenty of games where you run on iOS, but not many that incorporated a heavy combat element as flawlessly as this one. Heck, it’s got a more detailed combat system than many games where hand-to-hand combat is their main claim to fame. You just happen to be in constant motion as you do it in Punch Quest.
This is one of the rare games to become a critical darling due to its free-to-play elements too, which were lauded instead of flamed. One wonders if Madgarden and RocketCat even made that much money off of it as a result, but it’s nice to be able to hold this title up as one of the examples of the idea that “F2P does not equal evil.”
If that’s not enough to convince you of this game’s greatness, there are also these bits from its official description:
- Ride a dinosaur that shoots lasers out of its mouth.
- Punch an egg that turns you into a magical gnome.
