How To Count Your Chickens AND Hatch Them In Egg Inc
Struggling to keep up with the fast-paced egg business of Egg Inc? We’ve got all the tips and tricks you need to become a decillionaire.
Egg Inc is a recent addition to the App Store and Google Play that combines the frantic, active playstyle of a clicker game with passive, time-based, resource management. Your goal, quite simply, is to make more money. More cash lets you upgrade your farm to produce pricier eggs which sell for more money to allow you buy even better ones. Hooray for capitalism!
While the basics of the game may be fairly obvious (click to produce chickens, upgrade buildings to sell more/better eggs), the game doesn’t offer a lot of tutorial in terms of how to push to new heights. You may find yourself stalling out early, unsure what to upgrade or with slow-producing farms. Here are some tips and tricks to help you sail to the Immortal egg tier in Egg Inc:
Bring down drones
What are those weird, flying things zooming overhead? They’re not robot chickens; they’re drones, and you don’t want them on your farm spying on your eggy secrets. A simple tap will bring them down and reward you with cash, or sometimes golden eggs. Slow-moving drones are easy to bring down for a small profit, but you’ll occasionally see speedy ones zip by. If you manage to knock them out of the sky, you may find yourself with more cash than you know what to do with as a reward. Though the bills in your pocket don’t affect your farm’s overall value, if you find yourself strapped for cash, go drone hunting for a bit and see what flies in.

Play the game for longer bursts of time
While it may be tempting to set up your farm quickly and forget about it for long periods of time, you’ll be missing out on one of the game’s most lucrative rewards. If you keep the game open and active for several minutes, eventually small white trucks will drop off packages for you stuffed with money. No catch! Just for playing for awhile, you’ll get a whole heap of dough to spend on upgrades. It scales with your farm value, so no matter what, you’ll always find the packages valuable.
This works really well for drone hunting. Leave the game open while you’re bored for five or ten minutes, bring down some drones, and wait for the package. You’ll be on the next egg tier before you know it.
Invest in the right research
Egg Inc doesn’t explain the different research tiers very well, and some of them…aren’t really worth it–at least not all the time. Depending on your playstyle, you’ll want to throw money at certain research over others.
If you’re a clicker and spend a lot of time with the app open, creating more chickens whenever your hatchery allows you, consider investing in Running Chickens upgrades and Hatchery upgrades. This will allow you to produce more chickens quickly and get bonuses for doing so. You’ll also need to ensure your coops are continuously upgraded, so there’s room, so throw money in that direction, too. There are some research tiers that will increase the size of your coops across the board.
If you play more passively, focus your points on things like egg value, egg production, and chicken production. Your coops will automatically produce a certain amount of chickens per minute, but that number is barely noticeable at first. You can effectively keep your farm running without clicking for more chickens beyond the initial coop if you upgrade this properly.
Spend your golden eggs
Finally, the golden eggs. Egg Inc just throws these at you in piles–there’s no reason to ever spend real money on this game or even watch an ad if you don’t want to; unless you’re trying to beat Egg Inc really quickly for some reason. Spend your golden eggs on Epic upgrades, which never go away, even when you upgrade your farm. For clickers, increasing the amount of chickens per click should be a priority. For more passive players, opt for hatchery increases and decreased costs to buildings and research. Later tiers offer upgraded drones that drop even more money if drone hunting is your specialty.
Upgrade immediately
Finally, upgrade your farm as soon as you can. When a new egg level comes available, don’t sit on it. The enormous boost to egg price you get for upgrading ensures you’ll be able to get your new farm up to the same level as the old one in half the time, and remaining at a lower egg tier to try and skip tiers is just asking for pain. There’s only so much you can do with lower egg cost. The newspapers left in front of your farm will alert you when a new tier is available if you’re not interested in constantly checking the menu.
