2. The Wii had a lot of hidden gems

If you are just thinking about Nintendo published games then it is easy to think that the Wii did not have anything better than Mario, Samus, Zelda, and Pikmin. There wasalso a lot of shovelware that existed for no reason other than to trick children into getting some poorly made game. For those who do deep searches, you can find a treasure chest of rewarding games. Right now I am enjoying a 3D adventure game from Atari called The Kore Gang- Outvasion From Inner Earth. It is a hilarious and weird title that plays fairly well for its age. Not many people remember that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had a Smash Bros Clone called Smash’em Up that was decent (also far less expensive than Smash). Pirates of Plundaaar is a Wii exclusive in the same spirit as Castle Crashers.

If you want to go into the more Japanese collection Capcom made one of the best crossover fighters called Capcom Vs. Tatsunoko. Square Enix gave life to the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles franchise. One of the rarest action RPGs you can track down for $120 is The Last Story and Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon.

I could go on for at least 1000 more words telling you about the obscure Nintendo driving game Excitebots or the Spielberg-directed party game Boom Bash Blox. It’s worth a deep dive.
