Diablo IV provides endless activities upon completing the campaign on your grind to level 100. One of those activities is the Helltide region event which provides lucrative materials that can only be obtained in the Helltide and a plethora of chests to open for a price. Be warned though, you’re in for a fight for your life.

The Helltide Rises

Every two hours and fifteen minutes, somewhere on the map the Helltide rises and formidable foes escape from hell to plague Sanctuary. During this hour long event the goal is simple – kill as many enemies as possible and collect Aberrant Cinders. The cinders you collect can be used to unlock armor/weapon chests located within the Helltide. However, there’s only one chest you should be focusing on – Tortured Gifts of Mysteries.

The Tortured Gifts of Mysteries chest can be yours for 175 Aberrant Cinders and will drop multiple legendary items along with an abundance of other useful items and materials. Unlike the other chests that spawn, the mystery chest doesn’t show up on the map unless you are near it. Fortunately, there’s a site that tracks everything related to the Helltide and is super simple to use – Diablo 4 Helltide Event Tracker

The site will update the moment a Helltide enters Sanctuary and update where every chest is located, including the Tortured Gifts of Mysteries chests. Each zone will have two mystery chests to open, excluding Khejistan, which will have three to open at any given time. Can you open them more than once? Well, that depends on when the Helltide spawns. Every chest on the map will reset on the hour. So if the Helltide spawns in at 4:15pm, then all the chests will reset at 5pm and the Helltide will end at 5:15pm.

Death Will Cost You

While the Helltide provides extremely useful items and materials, don’t expect it to be easy. The difficulty within the event is turned up a notch and death will cost you half of your Aberrant Cinders that you’ve banked. So be sure to stay safe and if possible, run with a group to help clear the events faster. After all, you only have an hour! Oh, and remember to spend your cinders or you’ll lose them at the end of the event!
