Wondering if Starfield will have a beta test ahead of its launch this September? Here’s what we know.

Starfield is arguably one of the most anticipated RPGs of 2023. Originally slated for release last November, Bethesda made the decision to delay the upcoming space adventure to 2023, only recently nailing down the release date of Sept. 6, 2023.

The game mark the first new IP from Bethesda Game Studios in over 25 years, and has been described by Starfield Director Todd Howard as being “Skyrim in space.” Like many Bethesda RPGs, players will be able to customise their own character, a space explorer, and send them on their adventure through The Settled Systems, a part of space far beyond the Solar System.

While Bethesda and Microsoft have steadily been releasing new information around the game, more details on Starfield are set to be revealed during a special Microsoft-Bethesda press event, Starfield Direct, scheduled for June 11, 2023.

But understandably, fans are eager to get their hands on Starfield for themselves. So, will the game be holding a beta at any point in the future?

Does Starfield have a beta?

Sadly, no. Neither Bethesda or Microsoft have revealed any plans for hold an open or closed beta ahead of Starfield’s launch later this year.

A sneaky false result has been present on Google in recent days, calling on players to “play starfield now” (yes, lowercase) as part of a beta. The sponsored Google post reads, “Don’t miss out on this exciting adventure. Play now. Enjoy action with your friends. Open world.”

As reported by PC Gamer, this is, quite obviously, a scam result so don’t be fooled by its promises to “play now.” The site has a URL of “starfięld dot com,” where you’ll find a “demo” button which downloads an executable file to your PC. Rest assured, this isn’t Starfield but rather malware. Avoid at all costs.
