From Starfield to Redfall to Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5, there’s a lot for Bethesda fans to be excited for — and Xbox owners now that the studio has been acquired by Microsoft. There’s a lot in the works at Bethesda Softworks, which falls under ZeniMax Media, which as of 2020 is now part of Xbox Game Studios.

We’ve got games from MachineGames, Arkane Studios and Bethesda Game Studios. Let’s take a quick look at all of the confirmed games in development at Bethesda for Xbox. They aren’t all coming in 2023, but here’s a rundown of what’s in the pipeline.

Redfall

After a delay, Redfall is now slated to launch in the first half of 2023. Developed by Arkane Austin, the studio behind the Prey and Dishonored games, Redfall is a co-op FPS set in an open world that has been overrun by vampires. The multiplayer aspect has drawn comparisons to the likes of Left 4 Dead, but there appears to be more story involved as you fight back a horde of bloodsuckers who have blocked out the sun of the small island town of Redfall, Massachusetts.

Starfield

Delayed alongside Redfall, Starfield is now also scheduled to release in the first half of 2023. This is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated releases of the upcoming year. It’s the first new IP launched by Bethesda in over 25 years. Bethesda has been drip-feeding us details about the upcoming sci-fi RPG. Here’s hoping it can live up to expectations.

Elder Scrolls 6

It’s been over a decade since the release of The Elder Scrolls 5 and as much fun as Skyrim has been, we’re all ready to move on. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the Elder Scrolls 6 will be the next installment in the fantasy RPG. It was first revealed all the way back in 2018 but we haven’t seen or heard much since. As of June 2022, The Elder Scrolls 6 was in pre-production so it will probably be at least another year or two before its release. Hopefully, we get some firm details in 2023 though.

Fallout 5

Another popular Bethesda franchise, Fallout 5 also in early development. Todd Howard confirmed that Fallout 5 won’t come until after Elder Scrolls 6 so it will be years before this game sees the light. But it’s something for fans to look forward to and maybe we get to hear more in 2023.

Indiana Jones

Perhaps the most surprising announcement to come from Bethesda was an Indiana Jones game. Announced in 2021, not much is known about the game, except that it’s being developed by Machine Games (known for working on the Wolfenstein series) and that it will be a standalone adventure that will tell “a wholly original tale set at the height of the career of the famed adventurer.”

So there’s a quick look at each of the confirmed games currently in development at Bethesda. All are guaranteed to be coming to Xbox and will almost certainly be launch titles through Xbox Game Pass. As Bethesda is owned by Microsoft, it’s quite likely these will all be Xbox exclusives as well.
