10 Indie Games coming in 2023 that you need to know about
By Matt Fresh
Ravenlok
With a story inspired by Alice in Wonderland and gameplay resembling Legend of Zelda, Ravenlok looks like an absolute delight. Its 3D pixel art style is gorgeous to look at and completely unique in the current gaming landscape. Its fairytale story will ensure it’s something players of all ages can enjoy and connect with. The folly of most Zelda-esque games is that they often try to be complete copies instead of using the formula while maintaining their own unique identity. Ravenlok looks to be a Zelda-like worth getting excited for.
Ravenlok will release in early 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S & PC. It will be available on Game Pass
Hollow Knight Silksong
Seemingly confirmed to release in 2023 after it was shown at an Xbox Showcase that Phil Spencer said would only show games releasing within 12 months, I am obligated to put long anticipated Hollow Knight Silksong on this list. Hollow Knight is one of the most beloved indie games of all time. Its combination of Metroidvania design, hack ‘n slash gameplay and Soulslike difficulty made it an instant classic. Should Silksong actually release in 2023, fans and newcomers alike will be treated to hopefully more of the same, just bigger and better.
Hollow Knight Silksong will (hopefully) release in the first half of 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch & PC. It will be available on Game Pass.
