Prime Gaming: Far Cry 4 and other free games for June 2022

A new month is almost upon us which means a new batch of video games coming to us thanks to Prime Gaming. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you’ll be able to download six PC games for free starting June 1.

Prime Gaming’s June lineup is led by Ubisoft’s Far Cry 4. Although the first-person shooter is now six years old, having been released in 2014, it remains one of the best in the franchise. The story leaves a bit to be desired but the fun in Far Cry 4 rests in the gameplay.  It’s a massive game, taking what made Far Cry 3 so popular and expanding upon it with a massive open world filled with larger outposts and fortresses, more vehicles and weapon customizations, and more.

Also coming our way next month for free through Prime Gaming are five other titles, a little bit lesser-known but worthy of your time nonetheless. They are:

• Escape from Monkey Island
• Astrologaster
• Across the Grooves
• Calico
• WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship

Escape from Monkey Island comes from is the fourth installment in the series of graphic adventures from LucasArts and Lucasfilm. It’s a charming puzzle game, albeit a tad bit on the old side.

Astrologaster is much more recent; a story-driven adventure based on a ridiculous story set in Shakespeare’s London. You play as ‘Doctor’ Simon Forman and treat his patients using astrology.

Across the Grooves is a gorgeous-looking interactive graphic novel. If you’re a fan of the Life is Strange franchise, this game should be right up your alley as the choices you make affect the destiny of a girl named Alice, changing her reality and allowing her to explore alternative destinies.

Calico is a community sim where you’re tasked with rebuilding the town’s cat cafe, filling it with cute furniture, fun decorations and delicious pastries. I’m not really a cat kinda guy, but there’s definitely a community for it, as evidenced by the thousands of positive reviews this game has.

And lastly, we’ve got WRC 8 FIA World Rally Championship. This is 2020’s WRC racing simulation featuring a redesigned career mode, dynamic weather conditions, 50 teams, 14 countries and 100 tracks to race on.

In addition to this batch of games, Prime Gaming members can also look forward to their usual lot of free, exclusive content for multiple games. In June, we’ll be getting content for New World, SMITE, Paladins, Pokemon GO, Lost Ark Dead by Daylight and more.
