Using region-specific iTunes and Riot Games accounts as well as a VPN should allow you access to the League of Legends: Wild Rift beta in non-beta regions.

The Regional Open Beta for League of Legends: Wild Rift kicked off on October 27, but it’s only available in select regions; those in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand can now download and play the mobile version of League of Legends on iOS and Android.

Unfortunately, the beta will not arrive for Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Oceana, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and Vietnam until early December. The Americas will have to wait even longer with the beta scheduled for Spring 2021.

So if you’re in one of the regions where League of Legends: Wild Rift‘s open beta is not running, you have two options: wait for it to arrive or follow these directions:

How to download and play League of Legends: Wild Rift on iOS

If you’re looking to play Wild Rift on an iOS device, it’s first suggested that you create a dummy email account. This email will be the one you use to register a new iTunes account as well as a new Riot Games account.

After you create your email (or if you already have an email account), you’ll have to first create a  new iTunes account in one of the open beta regions. For now, the supported regions  Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand (of course, this will expand later on). Once you create your new iTunes account, search “Wild Rift” in the app store and you should be able to download it.

You’ll then want to create a new Riot Games account in a region that is currently hosting the open beta for Wild Rift.

Once you’ve created your iTunes and Riot Games account, head back to the App Store and download a VPN. I’ve seen ProtonVPN recommended, but it’s not free. After you find a VPN, make sure you select a region that is one of the ones in the beta.

Make sure when you log into League of Legends: Wild Rift, you use the Riot Games account that you created above. Also, select a region that’s currently supported in the beta. If you select North America right now, you’ll be met with a maintenance message. Once you have access to the game, it’s said that you don’t need to run the VPN at the same time again, which may help with lag.
