Madden 21 predictions for the Week 2 roster update
By Lance Liebl
Dallas Cowboys
Though the Cowboys lost, their defensive line kept them in the game against the Rams. It was an elite effort led by RE Aldon Smith, who is only rated 71 OVR in Madden 21. He led the team with 11 tackles (6 solo) with 1 sack and 1 tackle for loss. That’s good for a couple of points in an OVR boost.
New York Giants
79 OVR WR Darius Slayton had the best stats of any WR on the field during the Steelers – Giants game, catching six passes for 102 yards and 2 TD. He was targeted 9 times — more than any other Giants WR. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an increase to 80 OVR for Slayton, as he’s going to produce regardless of the up and down performances from QB Daniel Jones.
Philadelphia Eagles
I don’t see what everyone else sees in 84 OVR QB Carson Wentz. Yea, this Eagles team isn’t amazing, but Wentz always looks pedestrian. In the loss to the Redskins, Wentz was 24/42 for 270 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT and a 14.2 QBR. That’s not 84 OVR material, and he should probably drop down to around 80-81.
Washington Football Team
Washington had 8 sacks in the upset 27-17 win over the Eagles. 84 OVR LE Ryan Kerrigan had 2, 86 OVR DT Matthew Ioannidis had 1.5, and stud first round draft pick RE Chase Young (80 OVR) had 1.5. All should see an increase in OVR — especially Young. On offense, TE Logan Thomas (65 OVR) should see a nice increase after catches 4 passes for 37 yards and 1 TD.
