Second Base

WARNING: Do not trade for Robinson Cano. He can’t hit and he’s 37 with three more years at $24M.

Wilmer Flores (SF) – Age 28, Overall 73, Potential C, Contract $3.1M (2 years)

Flores can play every position in the infield, making him a great platoon or utility infielder. He’s a better hitter than fielder, with contact ratings in the 70s.

Tim Locastro (ARI) – Age 27, Overall 73, Potential B, Contract $584K (1 year RNW, 3 years ARB)

Not a great hitter, but Locastro can play every OF position as well as SS. He is a decent fielder (low arm strength) but one of the fastest players in the game with 99 speed and 99 stealing.

Jeff McNeil (NYM) – Age 27, Overall 85, Potential B, Contract $584K (1 year RNW, 3 years ARB)

Arguably the best hitter on the Mets. You’ll have to give up some good pieces to get him, but he’s a versatile fielder and top of the order hitter with good contact numbers (94 vs R, 86 vs L) and decent power.

Gleyber Torres (NYY) – Age 23, Overall 89, Potential A, Contract $584K (1 year RNW, 3 years ARB)

The hardest 2B to trade for on this list. Torres is a star with great hitting ratings, pretty good fielding ratings, is only 23 and under control for four more years. It’ll cost a lot but you’re set for the foreseeable future with him at 2B (or he can play 3B/SS)
