Darius Garland – Cleveland Cavaliers

Yet another great scorer joins the group of rooks. Garland may arguably be the best shooter in the draft, so expect a three-point rating in the ’80s.

As we know, piling up the points is always fun and shooting outside shots can get those offensive stats up in a hurry. The newest Cavalier will have plenty of chances to drill the long-range bombs, so it will be fun to have those screens set to get open and fire away.

His game is predicated around scoring, similar to Barrett, only not as well-balanced. But he is a better outside shooter. One also shouldn’t sleep on his ability to drive to the basket. He doesn’t throw it down with authority like some of the other players mentioned but he does have a Kyrie Irving-type of slashing ability with buttery layup finishes.

He should have some tasty badges in NBA 2K20 including Deep Range Deadeye, Tear Dropper, and Floor General. I can also see him having the three-pointer Takeover, which is deadly in NBA 2K19. Keep in mind that that’s if 2K Sports decides to bring back the Takeover meter or not.

Like with Bol, Garland played in only a few games during his brief time at Vanderbilt. Despite the short time, he made a big impact with his court vision and shooting abilities, hence the reason the Cavs jumped on him in the draft.

He has some dribbling ability as well. I don’t know if he’ll receive the Ankle Breaker badge, but I still think he can deliver some solid dribble moves. This should open the gates for some swag-filled step-back jumpers both from mid-range and behind the arc.

And as mentioned, I feel like the Floor General badge will be apart of his game. Although passing the rock isn’t a huge part of his game, he can still be a solid enough facilitator that will make his in-game teammates better.

Balance all of these things, you have yourself a stud to use in the game. Three-point shots, flashy layups, and smooth facilitating? Sounds like fun.
