Nintendo Switch: 10 Exclusives to get excited for during the rest of 2019
#6. Daemon x Machina
Someone who has never played a mech game might think they are all alike, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Mech games come in a reasonably wide variety of styles. There are the slow lumbering ones that do seem to make up the bulk of the genre, but there are also ones that feature fast-paced action, turn-based strategy, and a few other odds and ends as well.
I’m not so much a fan of the mech games featuring big lumbering machines that play out like some slow-moving Kaiju battle, but I’ll take a turn-based strategy or fast-paced mech game almost any day. Daemon X Machina figures into the latter category.
Daemon x Machina not only features fast and stylish action but a lot of customization as well that allows you to have a more versatile giant fighting robot than you would in most other games. Mech games are a rare breed right now, so anything featuring them and not looking terrible is something for fans of the genre to potentially get very excited about. It even has its own controller which while not as unwieldy as say the infamous Steel Battalion controller does make your undocked Nintendo Switch significantly wider.
Daemon x Machina did release a demo earlier this year that was not great, but the developers listened to the feedback and, as of last week’s E3, it has dramatically improved its core gameplay loop. You should be looking forward to when it comes out on Nintendo Switch in just a few months on September 13.
