10 most nostalgic moments from Pokemon Gold and Silver
Finding the creepy station in the Ruins of Alph
One of the most interesting new features of Pokemon Gold and Silver was its radio. The tune-able radio only had a few stations, and their music was mostly unnecessary in a game that already had fabulous area soundtracks. But after a tip-off elsewhere in the game, some clever secret-finders may have found a creepy station in the Ruins of Alph, labeled with nothing but question marks.
What is it? Nothing. Nightmare fuel. We don’t know. There’s never any explanation given for what this station is beyond a general sense that it’s the work of the Unown themselves. The station is entirely placed there to creep people out who just so happen to be browsing the radio in the Ruins, looking for something better to listen to than the already-disturbing Union Cave theme.
Nevermind that you first encounter the Unown by solving a puzzle in the ruins, dropping down a hole, and then having a creepy line with an EYEBALL pop out at you! Yeah, the Unown are totally normal, folks.
