Best Nintendo Switch Games #19 – Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition
Developer: Ubisoft
Synopsis: The Teensies are in trouble, and it’s up to Rayman and his friends once again to pursue the captured creatures through over 120 different levels, 40ish of which are remakes of old levels from prior Rayman games. The story has a loose grip on your activities, as you can freely hop between multiple worlds at once, pause to play some Kung Foot, test your skills with daily or weekly challenges, or work on your collectible game.
Why it’s one of the best Nintendo Switch games: Though we question what exactly makes this particular rendition of Rayman Legends “definitive,” that doesn’t mean the game isn’t incredible still even years after its release. The updated graphics bring Rayman’s distinctive style and personality into full, vibrant color at every turn, right down to the goofy little animations paired with clever sound cues. There’s a healthy mix of fast-paced platforming levels and slower, more deliberate collecting puzzles, and it’s all framed with a splash of co-op interactivity and challenge to keep fans wanting to improve. Rayman Legends is hard to top as a platformer–we just wish they’d make a new one!
