Will Prince Sidon be in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches on May 12, but will it feature popular BotW character Prince Sidon? Here’s what we know so far.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild introduced Nintendo and Zelda fans to a whole host of new characters. Perhaps one of the most popular was Prince Sidon, the Zora son of King Dorephan and the brother of Mipha.

Sidon made his debut in 2017’s Breath of the Wild at Inogo Bridge, when Link encounters him on the way to Zora’s Domain. Sidon encourages Link to head to the Zora homeland to help stop the rains caused by the Divine Beast Vah Ruta, which threaten to burst the dams surrounding Zora’s Domain.

With Breath of the Wild sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, set to release on May 12, 2023, fans are eager to know if they’ll see any familiar faces on their new adventure through Hyrule.

Sidon fans rejoice, the Zora prince will be making a return in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Prince Sidon can be seen, albeit very briefly, in the latest trailer for the upcoming game. You can see for yourself here at the 3:15 mark.

It’s unclear exactly what role Prince Sidon will be playing in the upcoming game, but he is seen fighting alongside Link against new enemies. It looks like we’ll get to see Sidon in action outside of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Nintendo also posted some official art of Prince Sidon in Tears of the Kingdom, as well as some other familiar faces, which can be seen on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account.

The first teaser trailer for Tears of the Kingdom was aired during E3 2019, with a full reveal coming two years later at E3 2021. The game’s title was only recently revealed, during a September 2022 Nintendo Direct.
