Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe announced for Nintendo Switch
Originally released on the Wii in 2011, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land was an excellent Kirby game that didn’t get a lot of play because of weird things like limited availability and launching at a point where people mostly wanted to get games on the Wii for motion controls. Luckily, Nintendo remembered it existed because they’re bringing us Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe on the Nintendo Switch.
More than a mere port, this rerelease not only has cleaned up visuals but it also adds several cool new features to the game, including a brand new power known as mecha ability. This turns Kirby into an adorable, squishy Gundam.
In addition to the new power, you also gain the power of friendship as the game now supports up to four players at the same time. Now everyone gets to play as Kirby using their own power of choice in what looks like a similar system to the criminally underrated Kirby Star Allies.
Outside of the main story, there are also new mini-games that have been added to the game’s already impressive line-up of fun mini-games. So there are a lot of fun things for Kirby fans and their Kirby friends to enjoy.
Unfortunately the multiplayer is only same system as it has zero online features. Honestly though, Kirby multiplayer is the kind of thing you want to have your teammates in slapping range for.
You can suck up enemies and slap YOUR friends when Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe launches on the Nintendo Switch this February 24, 2022. It’s also available to preorder now which given how Kirby games tend to be lesser produced, I’d probably get on that. It will be available both physically and digitally.
No word yet on whether or not Kirby-related accessories are going to drop at the same time, but awesome Kirby controllers and cases are usually released side by side with the games so keep an eye out.
