After a lengthy delay, miHoYo has finally announced the release date for Genshin Impact Version 2.7, and it’s coming this month. The official Genshin Impact Twitter account revealed that maintenance for the V2.7 update is expected to begin on May 31 at 6:00 a.m. (UTC+8). The maintenance period will take roughly five hours.
In the same post, it was also confirmed that Version 2.7 will run for approximately six weeks, with Version 2.8 coming on July 13, 2022. This is back to the original six-week cycle that MiHoYo had originally had for Genshin Impact.
While we’ve seen numerous leaks pertaining to Version 2.7, we haven’t had any official details announced yet. These are typically saved for livestreams. A special program for the 2.7 update is scheduled for May 20, which will likely reveal a ton of juicy and exciting details. You can tune in at 8:00 a.m. (UTC-4) on YouTube or Twitch. The official livestream will also contain limited-time codes that you can redeem for rewards in the game.
As for what we’ve heard so far, there have been numerous leaks about the arrival of a 5-Star hydro bow user, Yelan. Datamining reveals Yelan will be featured in the first, followed by 4-Star Kuki Shinobu.
There have also been rumors about special 2.7 events. One event, “The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival,” is rumored to be a music-based event. And there’s also a roguelike event called “Perilous Trail,” which features four different realms, each containing nine challenges. There’s also a final realm that supposedly contains 18 challenges. The kicker is that you’ll have to swap out your team after three challenges.
Again, none of this has actually been confirmed but we won’t have to wait too much longer. The Genshin Impact Version 2.7 update will officially be detailed on May 20. Be sure to tune in and let us know your thoughts on the upcoming update.
