Aliens: Fireteam Elite coming to Xbox Game Pass on December 14

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is set to arrive on Xbox Game Pass on December 14. The third-person shooter from Cold Iron Studios is inspired by the blockbuster movie franchise, specifically the second film, Aliens, which features the bada** colonial marines.

In the game, you play as a custom-created character colonial marine and are tasked with answering a distress call from an outer colony. What begins as a typical bug hunt soon uncovers a sinister plot with Weyland-Yutani pulling the strings.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative shooter in which you can play alongside two other players, or AI-controlled teammates, to fight off waves of swarming Xenomorph and Weyland-Yutani Synthetic. As you complete missions, you can unlock classes, weapons, gear and perks to aid you in combat.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite comes to Xbox Game Pass on the same day as the launch of Season 2: Point Defense. The free update comes with the new game mode, which is a spin on Horde mode that sees you protect, repair and hold different strategic points through waves of xenomorph attacks. There are 20 challenges associated with this new mode that unlock a new weapon, attachments and cosmetics.

Through Xbox Game Pass, you’ll get the full base game plus the upcoming Season 2 content as well as the previously released Season 1: Phalanx content. The first update for the game introduced the Phalanx Marine kit. Equipped with a collapsible shield in one hand and armed with a Handgun and CQW in the other, the Phalanx Marine is basically a mobile bunker.

If you end up enjoying Aliens: Fireteam Elite on Xbox Game Pass, you can probably purchase the paid Endeavor Pass, which comes with four individual DLC packs. Each DLC pack comes with an assortment of cosmetics for your marine and can be bought as the bundle by upgrading to the Deluxe Edition of the game or separately.
