The Week 1 roster update for Madden 21 is live, hours before the first game of the 2020 NFL season. Here are the biggest changes the roster update brings.
With the first game of the 2020 NFL season hours away, featuring the Houston Texans against the defending Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs, EA has released the Week 1 roster update for Madden 21. Colin Kaepernick is already in Madden 21, but there’s a lot of roster moves that haven’t been accounted for yet.
Some changes have already happened in earlier updates, like Derrius Guice being released by Washington and Mark Barron being added to the Broncos. Meanwhile, Andre Weingarten (@Swami_EA) has confirmed that some contract extensions will not be included as the details (yearly breakdowns) are not public yet. Also, recent injuries to players, such as Von Miller being out for the season, are not yet reflected. As Andre also described, players on practice squads will be in free agency through the active roster, but if you use a starting point or preseason roster, the practice squad will have those guys on them. To see the changes, use the active roster and start at Week 1 for franchise mode.
So with cuts, signings, trades and new player additions pretty much set before the Week 1 slate of games, here are the biggest roster changes in the Madden 21 Week 1 update.
