Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bug-Off Event is live today with great rewards!
Today, June 27th, is the Bug-Off event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Assuming you haven’t been time traveling (tsk, tsk) it should be the first one you’ve encountered.
To start the event, get on sometime today before 6:00 PM and talk to Flick in the Town Square. He gives you three minutes to catch as many bugs as possible, which you then exchange for points. For every ten points, you get a bug-themed item. These can be umbrellas that look like ladybugs, Hawaiian shirts that have bugs all over them as a pattern, and more.
While there’s no limit to the number of times you can participate in the Bug-Off event, only the first one is free. It will cost you 500 Bells to begin new challenges after that.
The cool thing to note is that unlike the things you get from most events, these actually look really nice. The colors are bold and vibrant and they’re actually something I can use and not just collect.
I also caught a spider-web door decoration that’s a big colorful web that says “WELCOME” in the middle, a termite mound about a foot taller than my character, a backpack that looks like a butterfly and a bug cage that I can wear at my side like the tackle box from the fishing contest so much more.
Get at it now that because it ends at 6:00 PM. Remember, you get bonus points for every three bugs you catch in a session so if you get nine, you actually get 12 points.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bug-Off event will return throughout the year. It will be back next month on July 25 as well as on August 22 and September 26.
