Our Madden 17 simulation of Week 8 of the NFL season features drama, action, romance and six interceptions thrown by Brock Osweiler against the Lions.
It was a crazy Sunday of NFL action, culminating in an inescapable hellhole that was the Seahawks/Cardinals tie. Some say Donovan McNabb is still waiting at home for the double overtime to start, others are asking why our Madden 17 simulation record sits at a dismal 48-57-1 record.
If you’re new to this feature, the NFL Week 8 matchups (like those in the previous weeks) are simulated using Madden 17 on All-Pro difficulty, completing the simulation with six-minute quarters. Once the prompt for kickoff/kick return appears, we press the Super Sim button to simulate the results. Screenshots are grabbed after the results are presented.
Can’t do worse than last week!
Jacksonville Jaguars 26 – Tennessee Titans 14
Let’s get started with some Thursday Night/Color Rush weirdness. The Jags and Titans come in still very much in the AFC South title hunt, and a win for either team here would go a long way.
In the end, it was the visiting Jags that got the 26-14 win, but not without a hiccup or two along the way. After leading 14-3 at the half, the Titans stormed back in the third quarter to make it a three-point game heading into the fourth quarter.
Jacksonville pulled away thanks to their ability to hang on to the ball on a late 50-yard touchdown drive capped off by a five-yard run by Chris Ivory.
Jags QB Blake Bortles had one of his less-than-impressive performances. Still, he managed to complete 64 percent of his passes against a blitz-heavy Titans defense. He passed for 202 yards and a touchdown, brought down by Allen Robinson.
On the other side, Marcus Mariota had a rough night under center for Tennessee. He went 12-20 and passed for just 127 yards and had a pair of interceptions, both of which came in the first and fourth quarters. Demarco Murray scored the Titans’ only touchdown and was their biggest bright spot, even though he rushed for just 34 yards on 11 carries.
So, who’s ready to see Jacksonville’s ugly Color Rush uniforms in real life tonight? I know I am! (he said, sarcastically)
