WWE 2K17: Roster & Soundtrack Reveals

As developer 2K Games gets closer to the release date of WWE 2K17, they are slowly revealing information to peak fan interest – most recently soundtrack and roster details.

WWE fans are still about two months away from getting their hands on the 2016 release of the annual professional wrestling title – WWE 2K17 – from 2K Games on October 11th. WWE games have always been largely appealing based on their line-ups of current and past generation wrestlers, and this year is no different. The developer has begun a series of roster reveals each week, giving fans the chance to start imagining match-ups.

IGN debuted the series last week that will run for 5 weeks. Prior to this, the developer had confirmed a number of susperstars:

  • WWE Stars: John Cena, Sasha Banks, Ultimate Warrior, and Brock Lesnar.
  • WWE Owners: Vince, Stephanie, and Shane McMahon.
  • NXT: Apollo Crews, Nia Jax, and Shinsuke Nakamura (if you purchase the NXT edition of 2K17).
  • Pre-order special: WWE and WCW versions of Goldberg, both playable.

Week one includes current wrestlers and legends:

  • Aiden English
  • Booker T
  • Brian Pullman
  • Brie Bella
  • Chris Jericho
  • Diego
  • Erick Rowan
  • Fernando
  • Heath Slater
  • Jey Uso
  • Jimmy Uso
  • Jim Neidhart
  • Konnor
  • Larry Zbyszko
  • Nikki Bella
  • R-Truth
  • Simon Gotch
  • Ultimate Warrior
  • Viktor

While the Ultimate Warrior will likely standout as the fan favorite from that group. I, personally, am looking forward to playing as Flying Brian, one of the original high fliers in the WCW.

Additionally, IGN released the 2K17 soundtrack which was curated by Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs. There are thirteen tracks in the game, including one by Combs himself, which combined with the catalog of WWE theme music should provide a great background for players as they climb from rookie to WWE Champ at Wrestle Mania.

Let us know which week 1 revealed character you are most looking forward to playing as.
