Ubisoft will likely follow PC Gaming at E3 2016, as they have revealed their press conference date.
Despite the odd company or two side-stepping E3 directly and holding their own events, it looks like Ubisoft will be standing their ground firmly in their familiar spot. The Ubisoft Twitter account officially announced the time and date for their press conference event. It will take place on Monday, June 13 at 1 PM PT. A pre-show event will begin at 12:30 PM PT.
Aisha Tyler has been confirmed to host once more, per the cinema-style sign in the back. There is also mention of Rabbids in a larger poster near dead center, so can’t wait to see how woefully integrated into the proceedings they will be woven this year!
With the addition of Ubisoft’s press conference, we’re starting to see the field shape up into something more familiar to last year. As of now, EA is confirmed to host their EA Play conference on June 12 at 1 PM PT, while Bethesda will follow six hours later at 7 PM PT. Microsoft is slated to kick off the Monday, June 13 at 9:30 AM PT, the PC Gaming Show follows at 12 PM PT and Ubisoft is set to as third act at 1 PM PT. Ubisoft has taken over the 1 PM Monday afternoon slot usually reserved for EA which, as previously mentioned, will go a day earlier.
That leaves a conspicuous 3 PM PT slot on Monday afternoon wide open, which is certainly expected to get gaming fans talking. Nintendo is expected to reveal the Nintendo NX later this year, and no better would that be than at E3 2016 on a stage.
Usually, they have been very ardent about presenting their new games and hardware directly to their fans through Nintendo Direct, but it should be noted that E3 is as much an industry event as it is a consumer event. It’s entirely possible Nintendo could take that 3 PM PT slot and present a video, while bringing whatever they have planned to the E3 showroom floor (or behind closed doors) on their own accord.
