Black Friday 2019: Microsoft previews first wave of Xbox deals and discounts

The first wave of Xbox deals for Black Friday 2019 teases discounts on Sea of Thieves and select Xbox Wireless Controllers.

November has only just begun and Microsoft is already hyping up Black Friday 2019. The biggest shopping day of the year — the day after Thanksgiving — Black Friday typically features some great gaming deals and discounts on consoles, games and accessories. Leading up to the big day, companies will reveal their best offers to attract you and your hard-earned buck.

Wasting no time, Microsoft has already previewed some of its Xbox deals for this year. While all of the deals will be announced during Inside Xbox at X019 on November 14, Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb has shared with us a sneak peek of some of the discounts coming.

The highlight of this preview is a 50 percent discount on Sea of Thieves: Anniversary Edition. The pirate-themed action-adventure developed by Rare was released in 2018 and has come a long way since then. The Anniversary Update released in April added a ton of new content, including a story component and a standalone PVP mode.

Also being discounted this Black Friday are select Xbox Wireless Controllers. On the big day, you can save up to $20 on select controllers, including some of the newer controllers like the Night Ops Camo Special Edition, Sport Blue Special Edition, Gears 5 Kait Diaz Limited Edition controllers.

Microsoft confirmed that it’s Black Friday 2019 discounts will run from November 24 through December 2. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members will actually have an Early Access period to take advantage of these holiday deals starting on November 21.

Xbox fans can find even more deals on various Microsoft products as well, including discounts on various Surface products, Turtle Beach headsets, gaming laptops and monitors and more.

As the final Black Friday before the release of the next-gen Xbox, you can bet the deals for the Xbox One are going to be very attractive this year.
