Sci-fi video games that ask you to save the galaxy are a dime a dozen. Jameson The Pilot is not one of them.
To be fair, it sounds like you could save the galaxy in this mysterious upcoming game from 11 bit studios and a one-man dev team (yes, that’s an oxymoron) called Rezoner. But you could also become a miner, explorer, pirate or space bus driver if you’d prefer. Or you could just fly around space with no set agenda.
Since 11 bit’s PR blasts have been selling Jameson The Pilot as “Spaceballs meets space sim,” it’s clear that there’s a humorous element, complete with pop culture references and cheesy jokes, to all of this freedom as well. Maybe you can even hit ludicrous speed, who knows?
What we do know is that the game features old school features like pixel graphics and 8-bit music right alongside modern facets like a wide range of customizable ships, guilds and quests. It sounds amazing, it’s supposed to be coming to mobile as well as PC, and we can’t wait to see more.
Oh wait, there’s a little bit more already, as 11 bit passed along the following announcement trailer after it got done with the PAX Prime fun. Enjoy!
