It’s time to blast off with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Not with the movie, as you’ll have to wait a few more weeks for that. But for mobile gamers, Guardians of the Galaxy: The Universal Weapon can fill that cosmic void in one’s life by bringing a large cast of characters, gesture-based, real-time combat and an original story — appropriately told through an in-game comic — to iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices.
The starting characters will be familiar to fans of Marvel comics or people simply anxious to see the film. There’s the (self-proclaimed) legendary Star-Lord, the enigmatic assassin Gamora, the revenge-seeking Drax the Destroyer and the soon-to-be immensely popular duo of Rocket Raccoon and Groot. They have to band together with other allies to assemble the five pieces of The Universal Weapon and unlock the entire story to reveal the true nature of the Guardians’ enemy.
Players can also:
- Build a team of Guardians and their allies while directing them in gesture-based real-time battles
- Go head to head with a roster of villains like Korath, Nebula, and Ronan
- Dive into 6 inter-galactic worlds with more than 60 unique levels at launch
- Play through the story in Battle Mode then switch up their team for battle in Arena Mode
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Universal Weapon is a paid download available on the iOS App Store, Google Play, the Windows Phone Store and the Windows Store. A version for the Amazon App Store is also on the way.
